Okay, besties, brace yourselves because this is some major news! Our faves, BTS, are making an iconic comeback, and get this: they’re planning a FREE stage in Gwanghwamun Square this March! You read that right – F-R-E-E!
This epic news dropped after Prime Minister Kim Min-seok paid a visit to HYBE on the 21st. During his visit, he spilled some serious tea about the significance of BTS’s comeback stage happening in Gwanghwamun. He said it’s super meaningful because Gwanghwamun was a place “protected by light sticks” during those super important historical moments, like the impeachment rallies. Imagine the visuals! ✨
Our Prime Minister even linked the roots of Hallyu (aka the K-Wave) to freedom and democracy, giving a shout-out to the light stick culture during the 12/3 emergency martial law and impeachment gatherings. He’s totally right – freedom is the root of our history, and that’s why Hallyu can slay today!
During his town hall meeting with HYBE staff, PM Kim Min-seok also emphasized that “the core of the K-pop ecosystem is ultimately people.” He promised to look into policies that support a creator-centric environment, so our faves can focus on their art, and also nurture young talent. We love to see it!
Before the big town hall, he even got to meet HYBE CEO Lee Jae-sang, VP Kim Tae-ho, and our boys from ENHYPEN to learn more about the K-Pop industry. Goals!
So, mark your calendars, ARMY! BTS’s new album drops on March 20th, and they’re gearing up for that legendary FREE performance in Gwanghwamun Square. Get ready to witness history being made! We’re manifesting attendance for everyone! 💜
