Alright, K-Pop stans, buckle up ’cause our faves are absolutely killing it as cultural ambassadors! BTS and BLACKPINK are taking Korea’s traditional heritage global, and we are LIVING for it!
First up, our Queens, BLACKPINK! They’re about to drop their new mini-album ‘DEADLINE,’ and to celebrate, they’re teaming up with the National Museum of Korea from August 26th to September 8th. This is HUGE, fam! BLACKPINK is the FIRST K-Pop group to do a massive collab with the museum, extending their global impact from music and fashion straight into traditional culture. Imagine this: the museum’s exterior will be DRENCHED in BLACKPINK’s iconic pink color – talk about a visual moment! Plus, the members themselves are lending their voices as audio docents for 8 key artifacts. And get this, a day before the album officially drops, there’s gonna be a listening session for ‘DEADLINE’ at the Gwanggaeto Stele in the museum’s main lobby on August 26th. It’s been 3 years and 5 months since their last mini-album, so you know the BLINKs are gonna flock there like crazy!
And then there’s our Kings, BTS! They’re making a comeback with their 5th full album ‘ARIRANG’ and chose the iconic Gwanghwamun Square – literally ‘the heart of Korea’ – for their massive return performance on March 21st! The plan is epic: an opening performance starting from inside Gyeongbokgung Palace, moving through Gwanghwamun and Woltae, and onto a stage at the north end of Gwanghwamun Square. ARMYs are already obsessed with Gyeongbokgung and Gwanghwamun! Remember their legendary 2020 ‘IDOL’ performance at Geunjeongjeon in Gyeongbokgung? Fans are still vibing with their **black hanbok-inspired outfits** from that iconic stage! This comeback is gonna be massive, with up to 260,000 people expected at Gwanghwamun Square, and for all the global ARMYs, it’ll be live-streamed on Netflix in over 190 countries! We love to see it!
A culture critic even pointed out that while the commercial impact of BTS and BLACKPINK is huge, their role in spreading traditional Korean culture is even bigger. When your ultimate bias naturally showcases heritage, the impact is just next level, period. Their every move is basically K-Culture now!
