YG Entertainment Unveils Monumental Plans: Big Bang’s 20th Anniversary Global Tour Headlines a Star-Studded Future

SEOUL – YG Entertainment, one of K-pop’s leading entertainment powerhouses, is gearing up for a landmark year as it celebrates its 30th anniversary. The agency has officially unveiled an ambitious roadmap for its artists, promising a rich tapestry of activities spearheaded by the highly anticipated return of K-pop icons Big Bang, marking their 20th debut anniversary with a global tour.

The news, confirmed by YG’s Head Producer Yang Hyun-suk, has sent ripples of excitement through the global K-pop community. Big Bang’s monumental 20th-anniversary global tour is undoubtedly the crown jewel of YG’s 2024 plans. While specific dates remain under wraps, analysts like Jang Ji-hye of DS Investment & Securities project that this tour alone could generate over 30 billion KRW in additional profit for the agency, a testament to Big Bang’s enduring global appeal and formidable impact on the industry.

Beyond the celebratory return of its legendary act, YG Entertainment is also laying down robust plans for its next generation of artists. The dynamic rookie sensation BABYMONSTER is set for an aggressive schedule, with a mini-album slated for release in early May, followed by their highly anticipated full-length album around October. Complementing their studio work, the group will embark on their second world tour starting in June, signaling their rapid global expansion.

Fellow powerhouse group TREASURE is also poised for a busy year. After concluding their remaining Asian tour dates by May, the group will drop a new mini-album in June. The latter half of the year will see them engage in exciting unit activities, all building towards a major world tour scheduled for 2027.

Looking further into the future, YG is committed to fostering new talent. The agency announced plans for a new male idol group to debut this autumn, with preparations well underway. Additionally, the members of an upcoming female idol group will be revealed sequentially, promising fresh faces to captivate the next generation of K-pop fans.

The strategic deployment of its diverse artist portfolio is projected to significantly bolster YG Entertainment’s financial performance. Analyst Jang Ji-hye highlighted a “rich momentum” stemming from the “Mega IP” of Big Bang, combined with the growth of “Next-gen IP” like BABYMONSTER and TREASURE, and the introduction of “New IP” through upcoming rookies. This comprehensive strategy is expected to enhance investment attractiveness and financial visibility.

YG Entertainment’s past successes, driven by the two-year comeback of global phenomenon BLACKPINK, the impressive growth of BABYMONSTER, and TREASURE’s significant strides, have already paved the way for strong performance. The agency forecasts an impressive outlook, projecting consolidated revenue of 651.2 billion KRW and an operating profit of 95.2 billion KRW for 2026, marking a substantial increase of 19.4% in revenue and 33.5% in operating profit compared to 2025. This robust financial trajectory underscores the strategic brilliance behind YG’s artist-centric planning.
